...From Sunday's game against the Hanshin Tigers:
...The Dragons beat the Tigers, 6-1. They have now won four games in a row.
...After being limited to just 4 hits over the first 7 innings of the game, the offense took advantage of a key error in the 8th to score 5 runs to take a 6-1.
With runners on first and third and 2 out, Tony Blanco drove in a run with a single to right. A walk loaded the bases and a fielding error by Keiichi Hirano (2B) on a grounder by Masaaki Koiki allowed two more runs to score. Motonobu Tanishige's double to right then cleared the bases to give the Dragons their 6-1 lead.
...Takahiro Araki was added to the active roster on Sunday. He entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the 7th and took his place on the field at short after that. He finished the game 0-for-2: fly out to left, ground out to short. Araki told reporters that he no longer felt any pain while running.
...Junki Ito tossed 8 solid innings for his first win of his career. The one run he allowed was in the first on a sac fly by Takashi Toritani following two consecutive hits to start the game (double and a single).
Final line: 8 IP, 29 BF, 98 NP, 4 H, 4 SO, 4 BB, 1 R, 1 ER.
Ito also became the first Chunichi pitcher under 20 to record a win since 1989.
