Kosuke Fukudome started in right and batted second against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the 3rd.  He went 0-for-2 with an RBI: ground out to second, sac fly to left, fly out to short.  Fukudome was taken out of the game in the 5th on defense.

Kazuo Matsui started at second and batted second against the Toronto Blue Jays on the 3rd.  He went 2-for-4 with an RBI: strikeout, fly out to center, single to center, RBI double in the gap between right and center.  Matsui was taken out of the game on defense in the 8th.

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted first against the Philadelphia Phillies on the 3rd.  He went 1-for-2: strike out, single to left.  Iwamura was taken out of the game on defense in the 3rd.

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted lead-off against the Colorado Rockies on the 3rd.  He went 0-for-3: error on grounder to short, ground out to pitcher, ground out to first.  Ichiro was taken out of the game in the 6th on defense.

Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted fourth against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the 3rd.  He went 0-for-1: strikeout, walk.  Matsui was removed from the game after his walk.

Matsui told reporters that he is now able to run at about 80-90%.

Hiroki Kuroda pitched 4 scoreless innings in relief against the Angels on the 3rd.  He entered the game in the 5th gave up 1 hit and struck out 5.

Against 13 batters: 5 strikeouts, 6 grounders, 1 infield fly ball, and 1 double into the game in left-center.

Ryota Igarashi tossed a scoreless inning in relief against the Baltimore Orioles on the 3rd.  He entered the game in the 8th and allowed just one hit.

It appears Hisanori Takahashi has won a spot on the Mets' opening day roster.

It seems a sushi restaurant will be opening up inside Turner Field and will be selling a lunch set called the Kenshin & Saito Roll for $11 (about 1,050 yen).

Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed four innings in relief against the Washington Nationals on the 3rd.  He entered the game in the 5th and allowed 1 run on 2 hits, 3 walks, 1 HBP, and 1 strikeout.

Matsuzaka told reporters pitching in relief was tough and that he felt he wasn't able to prepare himself properly for the outing.

Matsuzaka will be placed on the 15-day DL on the 4thJunichi Tazawa was placed on the 60-day DL.  He will be undergoing TJ surgery on the 6th.

Koji Uehara was placed on the 15-day DL on the 3rd.  Uehara also celebrated his 35th birthday on the 3rd.

Kenta Suda was released by the Seattle Marines on the 3rd.
