by on Apr.06, 2010 @ 8:54 pm, under NPB

...From Tuesday's game against the Chunichi Dragons:

...The Bay Stars lost to the Dragons, 5-3.  They have now dropped the first game in each of the four series they have played to start the season.

...The Bay Stars hit two doubles in the game: the first was hit by Jose Castillo in the 2nd and led to him scoring the first run of the game; the second was hit by Daisuke Hayakawa in the 5th and drove in Takehiro Ishikawa from first for the Bay Stars' second run of the game.  A sac fly by Tatsuya Shimozono with runners on first and third in the 6th led to the team's third and final run of the game.

...Castillo was the only player in the line-up with multiple hits.

Final line: 3-for-4, R -> double to right, single to right, ground out to second (CS), single to center.

...Naoyuki Shimizu started the game and lased 5 innings while giving up 3 runs (all earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks.  And if not for Tony Blanco getting thrown out at home to end the top of the 5th, things may have been much worse for Shimizu.

Final line: 5 IP, 23 BF, 90 NP, 8 H, 3 SO, 2 BB, 3 R, 3ER.

...Hiroki Sanada didn't help, giving up a 2-run homer to Motonobu Tanishige in the 6th.

...Pitching coach Hiroki Nomura made mention of the Quatro S, ala the 2006 Quatro K, to reporters on Monday.  That would be Shigeki Ushida, Shintaro Ejiri, Shun Yamaguchi and Hiroki Sanada (middle / long man).

...Daisuke Miura will likely be returning to the Ichi-gun roster for a start on the 9th against the Hiroshima Carp.

...In conjunction with the Yokohama Central Town Festival (Y151), the Bay Stars will be holding two special Y151 commemorative games on 5/26 and 5/27 (vs Orix Buffaloes).  Discounted Tickets for the game will go on sale beginning 4/10.

tvk, Kanagawa Shimbun, and FM Yokohama will also be giving away a total 453 pairs of tickets to the two games.
