From Wednesday's game against the Seibu Lions:
...The Buffaloes were dropped by the Lions, 9-2. They have lost 5 games in a row and have yet to record a win in April.
...Alex Cabrera nailed his 5th home run of the year in the 2nd inning off Kazuhisa Ishii.
...Akinobu Okada juggled the top of the order around a bit in an attempt to get the offense going. He replaced lead-off hitter Tomotaka Sakaguchi with So Taguchi, the number two hitter Shogo Akada with Koji Yamasaki, and the number three hitter Mitsutaka Goto with Shinji Shimoyama. That also gave the Buffaloes 5 straight right-handed hitters against the lefty Ishii.
Unfortunately for Okada, his plan didn't really work. The first three hitters went a combined 2-for-14 with 1 RBI (both hits and the RBI by Taguchi).
The five and six hitters (Greg LaRocca and Takahiro Okada) went a combined 0-for-8.
Missed scoring opportunities: LaRocca left a runner stranded at second when he struck out in the 4th; Yamasaki left the bases loaded when he struck out in the 5th; and while they did push a run across in the 7th, Yamasaki and Shimoyama did leave runners stranded on first and second.
...Shogo Yamamoto was largely ineffective (except in even innings) and gave up a 2-run homer in the first; a 2-run single, followed by a 2-run homer in the 3rd; and a sac fly and a 2-run double in the 5th.

...Batting coach Kozo Shoda showed up to Seibu Dome with his hair buzzed on Wednesday. Akinobu Okada apparently told Shoda that he should shave his head if the Buffaloes ended Tuesday's game with only 1 hit, which they did.
