From Wednesday's game against the Chunichi Dragons:
...The Bay Stars were shutout by the Dragons, 2-0. They are now 1-5 in April.
...The offense did have a couple of chances to score runs against Takashi Ogasawara (1st inning: runners on first and third, no out; and 5th inning, runners on second and third, 1 out), but failed to come through with the big hit. Yokohama had a chance to do some damage in the 9th against Hitoki Iwase, but pinch-hitter Yuki Yoshimura and Yuta Saito struck out for the final two outs of the game.
...Stephen Randolph had a perfect game going through 4 innings, but a lead-off double to Tony Blanco in the 5th put a stop to that. Randolph pitched into and out of jams in both the 5th (bases loaded, 2 out) and 6th (bases loaded, 2 out) but managed to escape unscathed. It was ultimately one hit in the 7th, a solo shot by Motonobu Tanishige, that sunk Randolph's night.
