Hanshin Tigers: April 9, 2010

...Keisuke Kano practiced at Naruohama on Thursday.  After catching Jason Standridge in the bullpen, he worked on his hitting.  Kano was demoted on Wednesday since the Tigers didn't want to drop one of their 7 relievers.

...Speaking of Strandridge, he tossed about 40 pitches in the bullpen on Thursday and could see some playing time in a Ni-gun game as early as the 13th (vs Hiroshima).

...It seems Hirotaka Egusa will be on his way to Ni-gun after giving up 3 runs in two innings against the Yomiuri Giants on Thursday.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto continues to struggle.  He does not have a hit over his last 9 plate appearances and has just 2 hits over his last 24 at bats (including 2 walks, 1 HBP, and 9 strikeouts).  Things aren't much better for Takashi Toritani: he went 0-for-4 on Thursday and now has 2 hits over his last 16 at bats.

...Akinobu Mayumi was not happy about Craig Brazell, Kodai Sakurai, and pinch-hitter Ryo Asai striking out, in succession, with the bases loaded in the second inning during Thursday's game against the Yomiuri Giants.
