Games from April 8th:

Akinori Iwamura started at second and batted first.  He went 1-for-5: fly out to left, single to right, ground out to second, strikeout.

Athletics 6 - Mariners 2
Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-4: ground out to second, line out to short, ground out to short.

Marlins 3 - Mets 1
Ryota Igarashi entered the game in the 7th with the Marlins holding a 3-1 lead.  He tossed a shutout inning, did not give up a hit, and walked one.

Hisanori Takahashi followed in the 8th and retired the side in order.  Takahashi pitched into the 9th, but was yanked after issuing an 11-pitch walk to the first batter he faced.

Twins 10 - Angels 1
Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fourth.  He went 1-for-4: line out to right, strikeout, ground out to first, single.  It was his first start in the field since 6/15/2008 (vs Houston Astros).  Matsui did not have any troubles during his two fielding chances.

Daisuke Matsuzaka will be joining the AAA roster on the 9th.  He will likely pitch in AAA games on the 10th and 15th.  For his outing on the 10th, he'll probably start and throw 80-85 pitches.

On the 8th, Matsuzaka tossed 71 pitches in a bullpen session with the catcher squatting.
