...Saburo collected his 1,000th career hit in Saturday's game. It was a 2-run homer off Chihiro Kaneko in the 5th inning. After the game, he told reporters he never thought he'd be able to reach 1,000 hits. Saburo also told reporters that he felt the team was better than the 2005 team that won the Nippon Series.
