...Tomokazu Ohka's Ni-gun start on the 20th was canceled on account of the game being called due to rain.  He will now start on the 21st.  Ohka will likely go about 5 innings with a pitch count somewhere in between 70 and 80 pitches.

...Pitching coach Hiroki Nomura is clamoring for his starters to throw more complete games.  Over the team's first 20 games, Naoyuki Shimizu's 8 innings in one game leads all starters.  Nikkan Sports breaks down the numbers even more: over 20 games, the Bay Stars have used 83 pitchers in all, for an average 4.15 pitchers a game, more than the 3.85 they averaged last year.  Relievers Shigeki Ushida and Shun Yamaguchi have already reached double-digit game appearances (12 and 10 respectively).

...Tomokazu Ohka could be promoted to Ichi-gun at some point beginning on 4/27 when the Bay Stars play nine straight (Hiroshima Carp at Mazda Stadium, Yakult Swallows at Jingu Stadium, and Hiroshima Carp at Yokohama Stadium).  For now, he'll be starting a Ni-gun game against Lotte on the 20th.
