11:48pm JST =====

...Jose Ortiz was held out of the starting line-up due to pain in his left wrist.  He apparently injured himself while playing defense in the first inning of Tuesday's game (4/20) against the Seibu Lions.

...OF / Base-running coach Tatsuya Ide wonders if he'll be able to remove the T located on his uniform now that Shotaro Ide has been traded to the Yokohama Bay Stars.  More than likely, he'll have to wait until next season.

9:24pm JST =====

...Hidenori Tanoue was taken off the active roster because he hasn't been doing very well.

His stats so far this year:

G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI SB CS SH SF BB HBP SO DP AVG SLG OBP OPS
17 38 34 1 3 0 0 1 6 2 0 0 3 1 0 0 5 2 .088 .176 .086 .265

5:09pm JST =====

...Jose Ortiz had a rough game on Tuesday.  He went 1-for-4 at the plate with three strikeouts AND he made two errors in the field (both in the 8th).  The first error came on a bad throw to home (overthrew the catcher) that allowed two runs to score.  The second came on the next play, which was a fly ball he ended up dropping.

...Munenori Kawasaki managed to extend his hitting streak to 18 games on Tuesday.

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka continues to struggle -- he has been held hitless over his last 4 games and has just 3 hits over his last 28 trips to the plate.

...The Hawks will be hosting a Pink Ribbon game on the 5/9 (vs Seibu Lions).  On this day, the bases will be pink and the players will be sporting pink sweatbands, which fans will also be able to purchase for 800 yen (a portion of the proceeds will be donated towards a breast cancer awareness group).
