...Both Shun Tono and Kentaro Nishimura worked out at Giants Stadium in Kawasaki on Thursday. Tono told reporters that he was feeling good and that he'd like to continue stretching himself out so that he can start throwing more complete games. Nishimura mentioned that his blisters are gone and that he wanted to try pitching without putting too much pressure on himself and that he would be satisfied with his outing so long as the team won.

....Tetsuya Utsumi was taken off the active roster on Thursday with stiffness in his body. The Giants expect him back some time during the tail-end of a 9-game series that begins on the 27th. The earliest he can return is on 5/2 (vs Hanshin Tigers). Wirfin Obispo will be joining the Ichi-gun team on Friday.
...Tatsunori Hara told reporters he thought Marc Kroon could be joining the Ichi-gun roster on Friday. If / when Kroon returns, what happens to Tetsuya Yamaguchi? Does he return to the starting rotation? Or does he stay in the bullpen? Said Yamaguchi, "I'll do what they ask me to, whatever the team needs."
...Michihiro Ogasawara was mired in a 0-for-16 slump (a span of 21 plate appearances and 8 strikeouts) prior to his 4-for-4 game on Wednesday night. He also hit a home run in his 29th ball park.
...Wirfin Obispo will likely get the start on Thursday against the Yokohama Bay Stars. As reported yesterday, the Giants are planning on giving Tetsuya Utsumi an extra day off for rest. What wasn't mentioned, however, was that Utsumi felt tightness in his body on the 19th.
...It seems Dicky Gonzalez was taken out of the game on Wednesday night as a precaution. He told reporters that the cold weather caused the tightness in his left hamstring. As of now, it doesn't appear as though he'll miss any starts.
...Marc Kroon made a relief appearance in a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on Wednesday. He had some control issues but did also top out at 151km/h. If he's feeling ok, he could join the team as early as Friday.
