Hanshin Tigers: April 23, 2010

...Atsushi Nomi will likely start Friday's game against the Chunichi Dragons after his start on Thursday (vs Hiroshima Carp) was rained out.

...Yamato could be in the starting line-up for the Tigers on Friday (vs Chunichi Dragons).  If he is, it would be his second start of the season.

...Akinobu Mayumi spent some time (about 15 minutes) working with Kodai Sakurai on his hitting (lower body usage) on Thursday.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto didn't practice after the game was called on Thursday.  He instead got some treatment done on his right shoulder.  Seems Phiten has also prepared a special titanium magnetic item to help Kanemoto along with his rehab.

...Matt Murton has a chance to become only the fourth foreign Hanshin Tiger to win an MVP of the Month Award.  The other three: Randy Bass (twice), Cecil Fielder (once), and Thomas O'Malley (once).  The last foreign Hanshin Tiger to win the award was O'Malley, back in 1994 for the month of May.

...Jason Standridge could be promoted to Ichi-gun as early as Friday.  And now the media is talking about the beginning of a new JFK trio (which would be Standridge, Kyuji Fujikawa, and Tomoyuku Kubota).

...The Tigers are apparently thinking about sending some of their people to the Guinness Book of World Records office in Shibuya, Tokyo to discuss Kanemoto's record.
