...Tasuku Hashimoto was taken off the active roster on Friday after being diagnosed with fractured right rib and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Hashimoto apparently suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch on his right flank on the 18th against the Hanshin Tigers.
...The Bay Stars announced on Friday that Yasuhiro Oyamada had successful surgery on his right shoulder labrum (右肩関節唇) on Thursday. He is expected to be out more than 3 months.
...Seem Shun Yamaguchi was doing more than just working on throwing to the inside corners to left-handed hitters during his BP on Thursday. Pitching coach Hiroki Nomura's advice on how to pitch to Norichika Aoki: hit the outside corners with the slider. Yamaguchi will move away from using his fastball as his out pitch and instead rely on his off-speed pitches.
...Tomokazu Ohka hasn't been feeling very satisfied with his Ni-gun outings so far. But it seems the team may "rush him" to the Ichi-gun roster (because they have no other choice) for their upcoming 9-game schedule that begins on the 27th. The Bay Stars rotation currently includes 5 starters: Stephen Randolph, Hayato Terahara, Naoyuki Shimizu, Daisuke Miura, and Shigeru Kaga. Having one more starter would certainly allow the team a little more breathing room.
