...Masahiro Tanaka started working on his hitting (soft toss and bunt practice) on Saturday in preparation for the upcoming Inter-league games that begins on 5/13.  He told reporters that he wanted to get an early start when he still had some free time.

...Katsuya Nomura was at Kleenex Stadium on Friday and received a warm welcome from fans.  He was not there as an acting staff member of the team, but rather as a sports analyst for Sankei Sports.  It seems he also didn't have a lot to complain about when it came to the team's performance on Friday night against the Nippon Ham Fighters.  He instead diverted his attention to the very team they beat and wondered out loud what had happened to them.

...Darrell Rasner apparently picked Suguru Ino to be his catcher on Friday night.  It was also Rasner's first complete game since 4/12/2009 (vs Seibu Lions).

Are we to believe that it’s been the catcher’s fault for Rasner’s terrible season? Maybe he should only pitch in inclement weather as well…

The reason for Rasner’s terrible season (until Friday) was that he had not yet had the pleasure of facing Nippon Ham.
