...Kazuyuki Hoashi is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Orix Buffaloes at Skymark Stadium.  Hoashi told reporters he was looking forward to the start because he enjoys pitching at Skymark.

...Hiroyuki Nakajima took about 20 swings during BP on Friday.  Said Nakajima, "It was the first time I swung the bat since getting hurt so it was more about getting a feel for the bat.  I didn't really put much into the swings."  Nakajima will probably speed things up from here on out as the Lions will likely want to place him back on the active roster sometime on or soon after the 27th (the first day he's allowed back on the Ichi-gun roster).

...Hideaki Wakui became the 15th pitcher (8th in the Pacific League) in NPB history to give up 8 or more grand slams in their career on Friday night (and he's just in his 6th year).  He's now just two grand slams away from tying the All-time leader, Motoyasu Kaneshiro.  Active veteran players Kimiyasu Kudo (SEI), Fumiya Nishiguchi (SEI), and Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi (HAN) are all currently sitting at 6 grand slams allowed.  Even Kaneshiro didn't give up his 8th home run until his 12th year.

The last grand slam Wakui gave up before Friday night was on 7/28/2008 to Ikki (ORI).
