...The Tigers announced that the uniform (along with his cleats and his cap) Tomoaki Kanemoto wore during the final game of his every-inning-of-every-game streak (number 1,492), will apparently be sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. But before it hits US soil, the uniform will be put on display at the Museum of Hanshin Koshien Stadium between 5/1 and 5/9.
...Forgot to mention in the previous update that the Tigers' rotation, moving forward from Tuesday, will likely be: Keiji Uezono, Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi, Yasutomo Kubo, Casey Fossum, Atsushi Nomi, and Naoto Tsuru.
...13-11-0 (2nd place): The Tigers finished the week 3-2. Takahiro Arai is swinging a hot bat right now, going 7-for-18 (.389) with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Takashi Toritano capped off his week with a grand slam (his second overall and his first since 9/17/2008 vs the Chunichi Dragons). Tomoaki Kanemoto went 1-for-5 with an RBI as a pinch-hitter.
Kenji Jojima's mini streak of every game of every inning also ended (at 24 games) with him coming out of Sunday's game after his fourth at bat. Jojima went 1-for-20 with 2 strikeouts this past week.
Upcoming schedule: the Tigers begin a 9-game stretch on Tuesday. They will be play three against Yakult (at Jingu), three against Yomiuri (at Koshien), and three against Chunichi (at Nagoya Dome).
...Jason Standridge could end up joining the rotation, now that Yuya Ando will be heading to Ni-gun for extra work. It also seems as though there is no set timetable for Ando and that he will stay at Ni-gun for as long as necessary.
...Naoto Tsuru could be called up to take over Ando's spot on the active roster.
