...Tetsuya Matsumoto was indeed taken off the active roster on Monday.  So far, no word on how long he might be out for.

...Shugo Fujii got some practice in at Giants Stadium in Kawasaki on Monday.  Fujii will likely make a start during the Giants three game series against the Chunichi Dragons that begins on Tuesday.  Dicky Gonzalez will also likely get a start during the three games series.

...Michihiro Ogasawara went 3-for-4 on Sunday and recorded his 159th career Multi-Hit Award (猛打賞), good for 11th on the All-Time list.  He was also one triple away from the cycle.

...On Sunday, Wirfin Obispo became the first foreign Giants' pitcher to hit a home run since Balvino Galvez in 8/27/1999 (vs Hiroshima).  The last Japanese Giants' pitcher to hit a home run was Kimiyasu Kudo on 8/17/2004 against Yakult.  It was also the first time a Giants' pitcher homered in his first start of the season since Clyde Wright in 4/3/1977 (vs Chunichi).

...Tetsuya Matsumoto could be removed from the active roster so that he can spend time working on recovering from his hamstring injury.  The Giants could be calling up Itaru Hashimoto to fill in for Matsumoto.
