...Looks like Jason Standridge will be getting a start on 5/2 against the Yomiuri Giants. That means the Tigers rotation over the next 9 games will likely include Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi, Yasutomo Kubo, Keiji Uezono, Casey Fossum, Atsushi Nomi, and Standridge.
Of course, this doesn't take into account when Naoto Tsuru might pitch (and at this point it seems he will be promoted on Tuesday). Daily Sports is still reporting that he's the pitcher that will be starting on 5/2.
...After being yanked in the 8th of Sunday's game, Kenji Jojima vowed to play in every inning of every remaining game in the 2010 season.
...Tomoaki Kanemoto could return to playing left some time during the Inter-league games. Said Kanemoto, "I thought it might take about 2 months [for my shoulder to recover], but now it doesn't seem like it will take that much time." Kanemoto could begin throwing again at some point in the very near future.
Of course, this all means Kanemoto won't be getting any surgical work done on his shoulder during the regular season. A club rep told reporters, "The tendon in the right shoulder, one of the thin muscles in the area is sort of torn. The more you rest, the better the condition gets, so taking him off the active roster would probably be best, but since he can still hit, that's not going to happen. He won't be getting any surgery and will wait to let it heal on its own."
For now, he'll be treating his shoulder with ice packs and electric stimulation (電気治療).
...Team owner Shinya Sakai essentially intimated that he expects his team to perform according to their payroll level (in other words, they are fully expected to win).
