Yomiuri Giants: April 27, 2010

...Shugo Fujii, scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Chunichi Dragons, played some catch and ran some sprints on Monday at Giants Stadium in Kawasaki.  Fujii is still looking for his first victory with the Yomiuri Giants.  Dicky Gonzalez was also at Giants Stadium and worked out for about an hour in preparation for his start on the 28th.  Seems he's gotten the home run fever after Wirfin Obispo got his the other day against the Hiroshima Carp.

"I'm a pitcher by trade, but I think I can hit a home run.  I won't let any pitches up in the zone get past me," said Gonzalez.

...With Tetsuya Matsumoto out, Hisayoshi Chono will likely get a good look in the two hole.  Other players that can also fill in for Matsumoto: Yoshiyuki Kamei, Takahiro Suzuki, and Yoshitomo Tani.

And speaking of Matsumoto, it doesn't look like there's any set timetable on his return at this point.

...TV ratings for the Giants - Carp game on the 24th were at 14.3% for the Kanto region, establishing a season high for Giants' broadcasts on NHK.  And while not entirely related, it seems Nippon TV is working on technology that will allow them to broadcast baseball games in 3D.
