...Hiromitsu Ochiai apparently noticed something wrong with chief / home plate ump Kenjiro Mori after the top of the 2nd inning and walked over to check on him. At the suggestion of Ochiai, Mori pulled himself out of the game and basically stumbled off the field in something of daze.
"Things could have ended a lot worse for him. Watching over them is part of our jobs too. If something were to have happened to him, the game probably would have been called. I guess substitutions are easier when someone says something," said Ochiai.
...Ochiai's comments on the team after Tuesday's loss:
"I wish the team would look a little more lively out there. And I'm not talking about winning or losing here. ... We're only 30 games into the season. We've been running on low and yet we're still here (3rd place). I'm sure things will begin to turn around for us. When that will happen, I have no idea. ... Looking at how we've played, it wouldn't be odd if we were 10 games under 500 right now. And yet this is how we play. It just shows that we do have some ability here."
...The Dragons suffered the first shutout loss of the year on Tuesday.
