The Central League averaged 27,240 fans per game (down 7.3% from 2009) during their first go around (playing both a series at home and on the road vs each of the five teams in the league).
Only two teams averaged more than 40,000 fans per game (Yomiuri Giants and Hanshin Tigers) while all other teams saw fairly significant drops: the Hiroshima Carp at 25.6%; the Yokohama Bay Stars at 16.2%; and the Chunichi Dragons at 8%. Much like the Pacific League, the reason for the large decrease might be due to the fact that Golden Week break did not take place during the first go around this year.
Central League games also lasted on average, 3 hours and 13 minutes, up 5 minutes from 2009. Regulation games saw an increase of 6 minutes at 3 hours and 10 minutes. That's still at least 10 minutes longer than the 3-hour mark each team is trying to hit.
