...Sadaharu Oh attended another day of Tokyo Big 6 games on Saturday.  This time he had a chance to watch Yuki Saito pitch and was impressed with his composure: "He didn't have his best stuff, but he managed to turn things around [after a rough start]."

Saito ended up tossing a complete game for his first victory of the season (5 H, 2 R).  It was also his 26th career victory.

...Toshiya Sugiuchi struck out 10 during his start against the Chiba Lotte Marines on Friday night.  That marked his 40th career double-digit strikeout game, good for 7th on the All-Time list.

Sugiuchi also became the first pitcher to win 6 games in the month of April since Keishi Suzuki in 1968 and first Hawks' pitcher since Tamotsu Kimura since 1957.

...Jose Ortiz's wife and five children have been in Japan since 4/26.  Seems his kids will be attending school in Japan this year, meaning his family will be with him throughout the entire season.  Said Ortiz, "I feel at ease when we're all together."
