The Giants swept the series against the Swallows and are now 10 games over 500. ... The Swallows have now lost 4 games in a row. ... Barnette (YAK) dropped his second start of the season and is now 2-2 in 6 starts. ... Tono won his 6th game in a row and is now 6-1 on the year. It was also his first complete game shutout of the season and his first complete game without walking any batters of his career. ... Lee (YOK) was in the starting line-up at Tokyo Dome for the first time this season. ... The Giants hit 5 homers in one game for the first time since 6/8/2009. ... Shigeru Takada gathered the team together after the game for an emergency team meeting. He later told reporters that he wanted his players to look more alive on the field so that he can physically see that they're trying. "I don't think they're just going through the motions, but I don't get the sense that they're really trying. And if I can't sense in, then it's the same thing as not trying hard enough. And at some point, you can't fall-back on the idea that our players are just too quiet / obedient," said Takada.
Prior to the game, Ramirez (YOM) met with about 100 fans (pre-selected) for an autograph session that lasted about an hour. This was part of his Yorokon Day (ヨロコンデー) series of fan events he'll be holding this year.
