...Tetsuya Matsumoto had to chase a snake out of the indoor training facilities at Giants Stadium today.
...The Giants will be playing in Niigata for the first time since 5/1989.
...Yoshiyuki Kamei spent about 20 minutes in the batting cages (fastballs and curves) on Friday. He told reporters that he was still feeling pain every few pitches, but didn't think there were any majors problems with his swing. Kamei added that he would take some more batting practice today and then, depending on how he was feeling, take the next step by facing a live arm. If everything continues to move along smoothly with his rehab, Kamei could play in a Ni-gun on the 11th and be ready to return to the active roster in time for the Nippon Ham series (set to begin on the 18th).
Tetsuya Matsumoto could also play on the 11th as well.
...Seems Seth Greisinger could be returning to Japan sometime later this month and be ready to pitch by the end of Inter-league play (sometime on / after June 22). Greisinger has been rehabbing in Los Angeles since 3/10 and has provided the Giants with updates 1-2 times a week.
...The Giants are 2 home runs away from a franchise total of 9,000. Alex Ramirez is 2 homers shy of 300 for his career.
