The Yuji Yoshimi for cash trade between the Yokohama Bay Stars and Chiba Lotte Marines was finalized on Sunday.  Yoshimi was also assigned the the number 12.

A press conference to officially announce the deal and introduce Yoshimi as then newest Marine was held earlier today.

Said Yoshimi, "Lotte is an energetic [team].  I'd like to try to ride that. ... I want to help this team win.  I want to show what the Bay Stars what they're missing."  And Norifumi Nishimura told reporters that he wanted Yoshimi to do a good job as a starter.

And it seems the Marines won't be wasting any time in using Yoshimi: his next start could be on the 23rd against the Hanshin Tigers.  Lotte will likely use a four-man rotation (Shunsuke Watanabe, Yuki Karakawa, Yoshihisa Naruse, and Yuta Omine) during Inter-league play but may need a fifth pitcher on the 23rd in order to avoid starts on 4 days of rest.
