Yokohama Bay Stars: May 11, 2010

...Naoyuki Shimizu will probably start tomorrow's game against the Chiba Lotte Marines.  If he beats the Marines, he'll have victories against each of the 12 teams of the NPB.  Shimizu said, "There's still one more team I need to beat.  I'll attack the inside portion of the plate, so I'll be throwing my shuto."

Shimizu also has a victory against the now defunct Kintetsu team, meaning he'll have victories against 13 different NPB teams.  That would make him only the second pitcher in NPB history to reach that milestone.  The other pitcher: Kimiyasu Kudo.

...The Bay Stars demoted Shingo Nonaka, Yuki Yoshimura, and Yuta Naito on Tuesday for their lackluster performances so far this year.

...The Bay Stars will be hosting food exhibitions during Inter-league play.  Well-known food items from the six visiting team regions will be featured at 10 games.  A complete schedule can be found at the official Bay Stars' website.
