...Looks like Atsushi Nomi actually decided against the surgery.  His reason: he feels he'll be able to get better just fine without the surgery.  Nomi will now go through a rehab program for 2 months, after which he'll have his right foot examined again.

...Yuya Ando had a decent Ni-gun outing on Tuesday.  But it appears the team will give him some more time at Ni-gun before bringing him back up to Ichi-gun.  As such, Ando's next Ni-gun start will likely be on the 18th against Hiroshima.

...Batting coach Yutaka Wada spent about 45-minutes working closely with Takahiro Arai on his hitting on Tuesday.  Since taking over as the clean-up hitter (ever since Tomoaki Kanemoto pulled himself out of a game), Arai has gone 17-for-68 (.250) with 11 runs, 2 homers, and 12 RBI over 17 games.  In the month of May, he's just 4-for-32 (.125).  Arai is also hitless in his last 12 trips to the plate.

...According to Sponichi, Matt Murton is currently on pace to break Ichiro Suzuki's single season hit record of 210 with 221.

...It appears Atsushi Nomi has opted for surgery on his right foot.
