Yomiuri Giants: May 14, 2010

by on May.14, 2010 @ 1:37 pm, under NPB

...Hayato Sakamoto had his second 2-homer game of his career on Thursday night.  His first 2-homer game came on 5/2/2009 against the Hansin Tigers at Koshien Stadium.

...Yoshiyuki Kamei played in a Ni-gun game against Nippon Ham on Thursday.  He was the starting DH and batted 5th; he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

...Tatsunori Hara recorded his 500th managerial win on Thursday night, becoming the 5th Giants' manager (and 26th overall) to reach the milestone.  Hara also happened to throw the game-winning ball into the stands -- seems he let the moment overtake him.

...The Giants are hosting Family Open Field (target audience is elementary school kids) on 6/20, 6/27, and 7/4.  And Girls' Giants Open Field (target audience is females in junior high, high school, college, and technical schools) will take place on 6/19.

I just found this site and it is great. I have been trying to find out the status of Seth Greisinger. When is he scheduled to return?

    Thanks & best regards,

The last I heard he was scheduled to return to Japan some time later this month. If that’s the case, he’ll probably be back on the active roster sometime in early-mid June.

Earlier in the month I read that the Giants were looking at having Greisinger return some time during their six-game stretch starting from June 22.
