...Shigenobu Shima earned his domestic FA option on the 15th.

...Kenta Maeda will likely get the start against the Nippon Ham Fighters today.  He told reporters that he was  looking forward to facing Yu Darvish.

...Kenta Kurihara extended his consecutive multi-hit streak to 9 games on Friday, breaking the previous franchise high of 8 set by Wade Rowdon in 1989.  He is now 19-for-36 (.528), 10 R, 11 RBI.

...The Carp announced that they have drawn a total 5,000 fans in wheelchairs since Mazda Stadium opened last year.  I'm not really sure how impressive that number is, especially since it also includes caretakers that accompany the people in the wheelchairs.
