Games from the 17th:
Ichiro recorded his 21st multi-hit game of the season.
Said Matsuzaka of his start, "I have no words. There's too much of a difference between this start and my last start. I consider myself a pitcher with a fairly large number of pitches, but when I make a mistake in how I use them, I can really hurt myself. I think the biggest difference was that I wasn't throwing the fastball as much [this time around]."
Royals 4 - Orioles 3
Koji Uehara entered the game in the 7th with runners on first and second and two out with the Orioles down, 4-2. Uehara got out of the inning by getting the first batter he faced to pop out to third. He ended up tossing another full inning before getting pulled. Final line: 1.1 IP, 4 BF, 0 H, 1 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.
