...Yuya Ando might be ready for Ichi-gun, but he likely won't be called up since the Tigers don't have a spot for him in the rotation right now.  A spot could open up if one of the starters at Ichi-gun falters.

...Tomoaki Kanemoto worked on his swing for about an hour on Thursday.

...Takashi Toritani looks to extend his hitting streak to 12 games today.  He once hit in 15 straight games, back in 2005.

...Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi started Ni-gun game against Hiroshima on Thursday and gave up one run over five innings of work.  Final line: 5.0 IP, 17 BF, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 HBP, 4 SO, 1 ER.  Shimoyanagi was sent to Ni-gun on the 14th because he likely wasn't going to get a chance to start at Ichi-gun -- because of the way the schedule is set up, the team doesn't need as many starters during Inter-league play.

...It appears as though Yuki Saito has made the top of the Tigers' draft pick list, in addition to other pitchers like Tatusya Oishi, Hirokazu Sawamura, and Yudai Ono.
