...Kenta Maeda will be starting tonight's game against the Softbank Hawks.  He will be looking to improve on his 6-2 record and 1.67 ERA.  He faced Yu Darvish during his last start and managed to eek out a complete game, shutout win.

Toshiaki Aizawa will likely start tomorrow's game (it'll be his first pro start).  After that, it will likely be Takahiro Aoki and Eric Stults against the Seibu Lions on 4 days of rest.

...Kan Otake started a Ni-gun game against Hanshin on Thursday and allowed 2 runs over 2 innings of work.  Final line: 2 IP, 13 BF, 3 H, 4 BB, 0 HBP, 1 SO, 2 ER.  He threw a total 51 pitches and topped out at 148km/h.  The club is hoping he'll be ready to rejoin the Ichi-gun roster sometime in mid-June (or when he is capable of lasting about 5-6 innings while throwing about 100 pitches).

Otake's next outing will be determined once the club decides he's fine.  He will likely toss 70-80 pitches during that start.

...The Carp announced that they will be donating money 3M yen to help with the foot-and-mouth disease crisis plaguing Miyazaki Prefecture.
