...Nikkan Sports notes that Craig Brazell is currently on pace to hit 50 homers.  Brazell paces the CL with 15 homers and has a team high 32 RBI.

...Matt Murton led off Saturday's game against the Orix Buffaloes with a homer.  It was the second time this year he led off a game with a home run (the first came against the Yomiuri Giants on 4/15).

...Ryo Watanabe had gone 14 straight relief appearances (or 19 innings) without giving up a run before giving up a run during a two inning outing on Saturday against the Orix Buffaloes.

...Kenji Jojima threw out two would be base-stealers on Saturday: Shogo Akada in the first and Aarom Baldiris in the fourth.  The last time Jojima threw out two runners in one game (in Japan) was on 9/13/2005.

...Keiji Uezono will apparently be used as an option out of the bullpen.  The reason: he likely won't get very many starting opportunities for a little while.

...Randy Messenger started a Ni-gun game practice game against Riseisha University on Saturday and tossed 5 shutout innings while giving up 2 hits.  Messenger threw a total 62 pitches and also struck out 7.
