...Sho Iwasaki is expected get today's start against the Yokohama Bay Stars.

...Due to the rain, Toshiya Sugiuchi's next start will be on 9 days of rest against the Yomiuri Giants on the 26th.  He did toss about 50 pitches in the bullpen on Monday.  After that, the rotation could go: Kenji Otonari on the 27th (vs Yomiuri), Tsuyoshi Wada on the 29th (vs Chunichi), and Shinsuke Ogura on the 30th (vs Chunichi).

...Nobuhiro Matsuda took some light fielding practice on Monday for the first time since he got surgery on his left wrist on the 9th (easy grounder hit by the trainer from a distance of 10 meters).  Matsuda told reporters that while he'd be lying if he said he felt no pain, he did feel much better than he thought he would.  The club is hoping Matsuda will be ready to return to the active roster some time in July.

...Koji Akiyama is all for players attending Winter Leagues in order gain more insight into various practice methods.

"The main problem would be whether or not they actually get playing time.  But there are still plenty of things players can learn just by going.  They can study different ways of practicing by participating," said Akiyama.

The  Hawks are looking into various Winter Leagues (Australia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela) to see which might be best suited for their players.
