...Takashi Toritani was held out of the starting line-up for the first time since 10/3/2007.  It seems his jammed right index finger was giving him problems when he played some catch during pre-game practice.  He did enter tonight's game as a pinch-hitter since he's ok to hit (but not ok for fielding).

...Matt Murton collected his sixth 3+ hit game of the season on Tuesday night.  Four of those six 3+ hit games have come this month.  Murton also has a total 20 multi-hit games (2+ hits) and has been held hitless in just 6 games.

...Takashi Toritani's modest streak of 106 consecutive games of playing in every inning of every game came to an end last night when he was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the 4th inning (the streak began on 7/28/2009).  He was apparently taken out of the game due to an injury he sustained on his right index finger (he jammed it) during pre-game fielding practice.

...Yuya Ando is set to return to the active roster on the 6/1 against the Rakuten Eagles.  Ando is coming off a Ni-gun start on Tuesday against Chunichi where he gave up 4 runs on 9 hits over 7 innings of work.  He also threw a total 117 pitches and struck out 5.
