...Toshiya Sugiuchi gets today's start against the Yomiuri Giants.

...Sho Iwasaki lasted only 2 innings last night (while giving up 3 runs).  After the game, the club apparently informed Iwasaki that he would be sent back to Ni-gun today.  Seems like it was the three walks he gave up that did him in (one with the bases loaded).

...In addition to Iwasaki, Yuki Kume will also likely be sent down to Ni-gun today.  Takehito Kanazawa and Masahiko Morifuku will likely be called up.

...The Hawks had won 8 consecutive games against the Yokohama Bay Stars (since 6/20/2007) prior to last night's loss.  They were also shutout for the third time this year.

...Hiroyuki Kawahara made his pro debut on the 21st during a Ni-gun game against Chunichi.  The Hawks posted a short interview with him on their site yesterday.

...The Hawks have posted video messages from Toshiya Sugiuchi and Munenori Kawasaki regarding Ganbaro Miyazaki Day (がんばろう宮崎デー) at Yahoo Dome -- 5/29 and 30 against the Chunichi Dragons.
