...The Carp announced that Mike Schultz will be returning to the US on the 39th to have his back checked out.

...Kenta Maeda is having an impressive run.  His win last night gave him three straight Ws in his last three starts.  Excluding his two losses, Maeda has not given up more than 1 run in each of his 9 starts (in his two losses, he's given up a combined 9 runs (all earned).

Maeda currently leads the league in wins (8), innings pitched (87), strikeouts (74), and earned run average (1.45).

...Chugoku Shimbun is running a mini-feature on 37-year-old veteran Koji Hiroike.  Hiroike had surgery on his left elbow in April 2009 and has been working his way back ever since.  His Ni-gun numbers so far:
