5/30/2010: Kazuo Matsui, Takashi Saito, Hideki Matsui

Games from the 29th:

Angels 5 - Mariners 1
Hideki Matsui was the starting DH and batted sixth.  He went 1-for-3: fly out to center, fly out to center, single to  center, walk.  Matsui was replaced by a pinch-runner in the 9th.

Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 1-for-4: walk, ground out to second, single to center, ground out to short, strikeout looking.  Ichiro also stole second and third in the first inning.

Cubs 5 - Cardinals 0
Kosuke Fukudome stated in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-1: strikeout swinging, walk, walk, RBI walks, sac fly.

Rockies 11 - Dodgers 3
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and gave up 7 runs over 4 innings of work.  Final line: 4.0 IP, 24 BF, 10 H, 1 SO, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 7 R, 5 ER.  Kuroda took the loss and is now 5-3.

Braves 6 - Pirates 3
Takashi Saito enterd the game in the 8th with the Braves up by a run and retired the side in order.  Final line: 1.0 IP, 3 BF, 0 H, 2 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.

Brewers 8 - Mets 6
Ryota Igarashi entered the game in the 8th with the Mets down 8-6 and tossed a shutout inning.  Final line:  1.0 IP, 4 BF, 1 H, 0 SO, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER.


Kazuo Matsui started at second and batted first during a triple-A game against the Portland Beavers on the 29th.  He went 1-for-5 with an RBI.  On the 28th, Matsui entered the game in the 9th on defense and went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI (he was responsible for pushing the winning run home in the bottom of the 10th on a fielder's choice).
