Chiba Lotte Marines: May 31, 2010

...The Marines finished out May 13-8 (8-1 at home and 5-7 on the road).

...Yuta Omine worked out with the Ichi-gun team on Monday (first time in two weeks).  On Friday, Omine started a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri and gave up a run over 5 innings of work.  Omine could be ready to start an Ichi-gun game as early as 6/6 against the Yakult Swallows.

...The Marines recorded their second walk-off win of the season on Sunday.  And the man responsible for the walk-off hit this time around was Tomoya Satozaki -- solo homer in the 11th off Shun Yamamguchi (YOK).  It was Satozaki's first walk-off homer of his career.

Satozaki is the first Lotte player to win a game 1-0 game with a walk-off homer in extra innings.

...Tsuyoshi Nishioka's hitting streak ended at 22 games when he finished out yesterday's game 0-for-4.  Nishioka finished 4 games short of the franchise record set by Arturo Lopez Rodriguez in 1968.

...The Marines announced the addition of commemorative towels for Tadahito Iguchi (1,500 NPB / MLB hits) and Saburo (1,000 hits) to their online store.  Saburo's 1,000th hit is now also viewable on Marines TV.

They have also started selling a Marines DKNY polo shirt at the Sogo Chiba store.

...Norifumi Nishimura's Marines' mobile phone articles are now being posted to the Marines' online site (slight delay).
