Softbank Hawks: May 31, 2010

...The Hawks finished the month of May 11-9-1 (6-5 at home and 5-4-1 on the road).

...Hitoshi Tamura fouled a ball off his left shin in the 7th inning last night and was taken out of the game and rushed to the hospital, where he was later diagnosed with a contusion on his left shin.  He's currently listed as day-to-day.

...Munenori Kawasaki picked up his 8th walk-off hit of his career yesterday.

...Roberto Petagine went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and an RBI yesterday.  His single in the 2nd inning was his first NPB hit since 10/7/2004.  And his last 3-hit NPB game came on 9/11/2004.

...Hiroki Kokubo took part in pre-game practice on Sunday and was ready to come off the bench but did not.  He was scheduled to get his neck checked out at a Fukuoka hospital today.  His status for tomorrow is still not known.

...The Hawks announced that fans donated a total 3,892,960 yen during their weekend donation drive for Miyazaki (it seems the team will continue to accept donations through to their game against the Yomiuri Giants on 6/13).  The Hawks are also planning to auction off t-shirts they were wearing during pre-game practice against Chunichi on 6/4.
