Yomiuri Giants: June 2, 2010

by on Jun.02, 2010 @ 4:24 pm, under NPB

...The Giants were shutout for the first time this season last night (vs Chiba Lotte Marines).

...It seems Shun Tono could miss his next start.  Tono tweaked something in his left leg during his last start on 5/29 against the Seibu Lions and while he told reporters yesterday he'd be ok for his next start, the Giants may take the conservative route and skip his start.

...Seth Greisinger tossed a total 50 pitches (29 pitches, a break, then 21 more pitches) during a bullpen session earlier today -- it was his first since arriving in Japan.  Said Greisinger, "I'm throwing at about 70-75%.  I'm not feeling any pain at this point.  From here on out, I'd like to try to hold 2-3 bullpen sessions a week, working first on polishing my fastball and getting my arm back to full strength before throwing my off-speed pitches."

...The Giants may be on the verge of adding Ikusei players Yi-Hao Lin and Chih-Lung Huang to their regular roster.  It seems the team will give the two pitchers until the 6th before making their final decisions.  The Giants currently have three spot open on their regular roster.
