Chiba Lotte Marines: June 8, 2010

by on Jun.08, 2010 @ 6:56 pm, under NPB

...The Marines connected for 10 consecutive hits in the 7th inning.  That actually tied an NPB record that was set on the same day by the Orix Buffaloes -- the Swallows connected for 11 hits last year, but that also included a walk after the 9th batter.

...Bill Murphy's consecutive scoreless innings streak ended at 17 last night.

...The Marines announced that they will be donating money to the relief efforts in Miyazaki -- Norifumi Nishimura will visit Miyazaki on the 14th and personally hand the money over to Miyazaki governor Hideo Higashikokubaru.  The team will try to round up money through the club and its player's association, as well as through a charity auction that will be held on the 12th.  The Marines are hoping to raise at least 3M yen.

...Farmer's Market information for 6/9 and 6/10 have been added to the official team site.
