...J.D. Durbin started his second Ni-gun game today and also made his debut at Yahoo Dome.  Durbin gave up 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings in a Ni-gun start against Hanshin.  He topped out at 147km/h and struck out 8 batters.

...Kenta Imamiya was added to the active roster today.  His Ni-gun numbers so far this year:

G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI SB CS SH SF BB IBB HP SO GDP AVG SLG OBP

...It appears the Hawks may move towards using Nobuhiro Matsuda at three different positions once he returns to the active roster -- in addition to third base, he has worked out at first base during rehab; he has also practice at left field as well.

As for his rehab progress: while not swinging at full capacity yet, Matsuda did start taking BP in the cages (against the machines) on the 8th.

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka doesn't plan on taking any time off after fouling a ball of his right knee during an at bat on the 7th vs the Hanshin Tigers.  Said Matsunaka, "It's a contusion.  It's not like it's broken. ... If I take time off here, they'll laugh at me.  It's not like I've hit 10 to 20 homers either.  Now isn't the time for rest. ... The minute I fouled the ball off my knee, I thought I broke something.  It's the most amount of pain I've ever been in."
