...Hisayoshi Chono was held out of the starting line-up for the first time since 4/3 (a span of 50 games).  Chono is in the middle of a mini-slump:  he's 0 for his last 16 and has just 2 hits so far this month (in 27 trips to the plate).

...The Giants announced earlier today that Dicky Gonzalez returned to Japan and will begin practicing at the Giants' training facilities in Kawasaki on the 11th.

...The Giants didn't assign an interpreter to Chih-Lung Huang because they wanted him to learn Japanese.  But now that he's on the active roster, seems the Giants might change their might and get him his own interpreter.

Incidentally, the Giants had three former Ikusei pitchers pitch last night, a first for the club.  The Giants had, however, pitched two former Ikusei players in one game 9 times and were 5-4 in those games.

...Shinnosuke Abe knocked out his 10th Inter-league homer last night.  That's top amongst all players during Inter-league play.

...Yuya Kubo has appeared in 42 games since 2008 and has not lost not a single game and has gone 7-0.
