The Japan Professional Baseball Players Association (JPBPA) held a meeting earlier today to discuss the current free agent system. The JPBPA is hoping to push the following two main FA issues to the NPB and the 12 teams later this month:
- making the domestic and international FA requirement a flat 7 years
- abolishing the compensation system
There were a number of other issues that were discussed, such a rental players and free agency for players that aren't getting much playing.
