...Casey Fossum tossed a simulated game on Wednesday and faced Craig Brazell, Kenji Jojima, Takahiro Arai, and Matt Murton.

...Kentaro Sekimoto earned his domestic FA option today.
...Hankyu Hanshin Holdings held a stockholder's meeting earlier today. Seems a stockholder asked Hanshin what the scouts were doing differently in order to snag a player like Matt Murton this year. Club president Nobuo Minami apparently replied by saying that they were doing nothing different and that Murton had been on their radar for quite some time.
...Ni-gun fielding / base-running coach Yutaka Nakamura's stolen uniform was apparently mailed back to the club's headquarters in Nishinomiya, Hyogo. There was no return address, the package, was, however, sent out from Ashiya, Hyogo.
...Takahashi Toritani worked out under a separate training menu during practice yesterday at the indoor Koshien training facilities. The Tigers are apparently allowing Toritani to train on his own.
...Atsushi Nomi received some supplements (good for helping bones heal) from Tomoaki Kanemoto yesterday. Nomi is recovering from a fracture in the cuneiform bone in his right foot. As of now, he's able to place about half his weight on the foot and will require about 2 more weeks until he's able to place all his weight on the foot.
...Kodai Sakurai took about 30 minutes of BP while seated during practice yesterday (under the supervision of Akinobu Mayumi). Taking BP while being seated allows batters to concentrate on their upper body and the usage of their hands.
...The Tigers are thinking of using Ken Nishimura in a setup role to help alleviate some of Kyuji Fujikawa's workload.
...Jason Standridge is apparently a much better pitcher during the day than he is at night:
Day: 5 G, 2-0, 3.24 ERA
Night: 4 G, 0-1, 12.19 ERA
Standridge's next start will likely be a night game on the 22nd against the Hiroshima Carp.
...The Tigers held a press conference for Tomoaki Kanemoto yesterday to give him a place to talk about the acceptance of his consecutive games of playing in every inning of every game record into the Guinness Book of World Records. At the press conference, Kanemoto also told reporters that he needed a little more time before he was ready to play the outfield.
...Yusuke Kawasaki was taken off the active roster yesterday due to poor performance. Through 17 games, Kawasaki tossed 10.2 innings and allowed 6 earned runs on 16 hits and 3 walks.
