...Taiyo Fujita worked out with the Ichi-gun roster yesterday -- he took part in infield fielding / throwing practice and also threw a little in the bullpen.  Based on the gist of the article, it appears he's ready to rejoin the active roster.

...Takeya Nakamura (right elbow) and Kazuhisa Ishii (left ankle) could both be heading to surgery within the month.

Nakamura was originally waiting to see if the pain in his right elbow would subside over time, but instead of getting any better, he's at a point where there's so much pain he can't even drive a car.  If  / when he undergoes the knife, Nakamura could miss up to 2 months, meaning the earliest he'd be able to return would be some time in August.

Ishii hurt his left ankle during a start against the Yokohama Bay Stars on 6/1.  The Lions gave him a few extra days before his next start (on the 10th), but it seems things didn't get that much better.  At this point, the Ishii is considering a operation that would allow him to return at some point during the current season.

While the Lions don't have any immediate plans to make changes to the roster, it does seem as though there's a chance they might pull the trigger on a trade or look into a signer a foreign player if they can't get by with what they already have.
