...Hitoshi Tamura has been hitting extremely well.  Some numbers:

June 10 36 16 1 5 11 10 .444 .500 .889 1.389
May + June 31 114 44 13 9 24 22 .386 .435 .737 1.172
Inter-league 23 82 34 8 7 18 16 .415 .473 .768 1.241
Totals 63 233 77 18 13 38 35 .330 .371 .575 .946

He has also hit safely in all 10 games that he has played this month and ended the Inter-league season with the best batting average in IL history.

...Hiroshi Shibahara hit his second pinch-hit homer of the season last night (vs Yokohama).

...The Hawks decided to send Yuki Shimooki back to Ni-gun after last night's game.  This was also about giving Shimooki a chance to see what it's like to be on the Ichi-gun roster.

...It seems there's a chance Hiroki Kokubo (neck pains) will be able to incorporat baseball drills into his training as early as the 21st.  Yesterday, Kokubo spent most of his time working on his upper body and told reporters that he was feeling a lot better than before.  If he continues to be pain free, he could begin swinging a bat some time this week.

...Dennis Houlton threw 50 pitches in the bullpen to a standing catcher yesterday.  Houlton threw at about 70% capacity and also managed to mix in his slider and change.  He'll probably toss 2-3 more bullpen sessions before he has a chance to pitch in a game.

...Nobuhiro Matsuda was set to play in his first rehab game yesterday, but with the rain out, that pushed off to today.
