...Tomoaki Kanemoto did not take part in situational fielding today, but did take some fielding practice in the outfield.

...The Tigers appears to be leaning towards renewing Akinobu Mayumi's contract for the 2011 season.

...Casey Fossum plans on mixing a fork into his repertoire of pitches.  Fossum started working on the pitch during Spring camp and tried using it during an exhibition game against the Yakult Swallows on 3/17, but found that it was largely ineffective and decided to stop throwing it.  But with his arm in better shape now than it was in Spring, Fossum feels that he can start using the pitch.

...Tomoyuki Kubota tossed an inning in relief against Ni-gun Hiroshima yesterday and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits.  That was apparently enough for the Tigers to decide that he was ready to rejoin the active roster.

...Kodai Sakurai went 3-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBIs in yesterday's Ni-gun game against Hiroshima.  Sakurai started in right and batted fifth.

...Seems Akihiro Yano had his right elbow re-examined and was advised not to do anything throwing for at least a month and a half.  Seems the elbow hasn't gotten any better, rather worse.  If he goes under the knife, he will likely require TJ surgery and will be out for at least half a year.
