Ichiro Suzuki started in right and batted first.  He went 0-for-4: fly out to center, ground out to second, strikeout looking, ground out to short.

Cubs 12 - Angels 1
Hideki Matsui started in left and batted fifth.  He went 2-for-4: strikeout swinging, strikeout swinging, single to right, double to right.

Braves 8 - Royals 5
Kenshin Kawakami started the game and lasted only 2 innings.  Kawakami managed to avoid extending his losing streak to 9 games when the Braves scored a game-tying run in the bottom of the 6th.  Final line: 2 IP, 13 BF, 6 H, 1 SO, 0 BB, 5 R, 4 ER.

Red Sox 2 - Dodgers 0
Hiroki Kuroda started the game and suffered his 5th loss of the season. Kuroda is now 6-5 on the year.  Final line: 7 IP, 28 BF, 6 H, 9 SO, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 2 R, 2 ER.

It was Kuroda's first start at Fenway Park.

Takashi Saito started a triple-A game against the Syracuse Chiefs on the 20th and tossed one shutout inning.  Final line: 1 IP, 13 (8) NP (strikes), 3 BF, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO.

Saito is currently working his way back from an injury to his left hamstring and this was his first appearance since getting injured.  It appears Saito is close to 100%.

Ryota Igarashi apparently received a Father's Day letter, filled with the word METS, from his 7-year-old daughter.

Kazuo Matsui went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk against the triple-A Las Vegas 51s.  He started at second and batted 9th.
